BEST travel dress. Ever.
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I wore this dress out the past 2 summers. Perfect fit and I agree with all the other reviews that mention the ability to wear this without a bra. I love how versatile this dress is and how easy it is--never wrinkles, dries fast, packs well, and great to move around in. I can even ride a bike in this dress. I would not hesitate to buy this dress--you won't regret it. I'm back to buy another color!"

my favorite item of clothing.
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I originally purchased the Morning Glory Dress in the summer of 2007 and I now own it in 3 colors. It's the most comfortable, breathable, stylish article of clothing I own. I'm 5'6", 127lbs, and the small fits perfectly. I'm not very chesty, so I don't need to wear a bra with this. It's my favorite- and I plan to own it in every color at some point."

Very flattering dress; braless OK up to ~34D
4 out of 5 4 of 5 stars
"I'm 6'1" and this dress is the perfect length, just above the knee. Also very flattering; I bought the L and it's just right, perhaps just a hair big and I'm usually a solid L. I took it in at the waist a little bit.

I'm also 34DDD and it's just not quite right as is.; not enough shape to the bodice. However, here's what I did (since I've been sewing since I was 10): I added darts to the bodice and now I can wear it without a bra, without huge cleavage, and it's very flattering. I love it.

So....if you're 34DDD or equivalent in volume, and you don't want to have it altered, this dress won't work. I think if you're 34D or under, it should work fine.

my new favorite dress!
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I was nervous to buy a dress from Patagonia only because sporty stores can be hit or miss with everyday clothes. I am so happy I took a risk with this dress! I am 5'5", 145 pounds, and very muscular and curvey- small tummy and waist, 34D bust and size 6/8 hips and bottom. I often struggle to find summer dresses that are modest with my bust but still sexy for nights out. This dress is perfect! It gives a tiny bit of cleavage (you could put a cardigan over top for work) without being too revealing at all, and the back of the dress is cut low, but abbreviated with the tie. It comes to my knees. I have very broad shoulders, and this is very, very flattering. It shows off my curves without making me look lumpy, and the halter is perfectly cut, so I don't have to constantly pull up the top of the dress to contain my bust :) And did I mention how comfortable the fabric is??

I tried on the dress for my boyfriend, and it his new favorite dress for me too. My old favorite dress was a sleeveless number from J.Crew that I had to throw out after three summers. I am so happy to replace it with such a versatile, fun, and elegantly modest dress. I can't wait to wear it next week on a trip to Mexico, paired with brown leather sandals decorated with gold beading.

Can't wait to try more Patagonia dresses!

Love this dress

"I bought this dress last sring in a beautiful blue color. The dress is very flattering and comfortable and I got a ton of compliments on it. I did not wear a bra and it fit almost like a yoga top, I think I would prefer to find a bra that works so that I am not flattened out. I also had the dress shortened to fall right above my knee. I am 5 8 1/2 and 135 and a medium fit great. My only complaint is that the tie in the back prevents wearing a sweater over it so i can't wear it year round."

Go anywhere dress..seriously!

"I love this dress! I get compliments on it every single time I wear it. It is so comfortable and flattering but also holds up well to long days or being balled up in a backpack while travelling abroad. I even saw a river guide wearing it on a 10 day river trip at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and she looked great too! The tie in the back provides a perfect fit on top with the easy, flowing bottom. I am 5'4" and about 135 lbs and the medium fits like a glove!"

"This dress has such a nice drape to it. Great colors. Only draw back is Patagonia doesn't have petite or tall sizes. It was too long for me and so I had it hemmed, which added another $25."

Great All-Round Dress
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I travel 4 days a week for business and try to fit in workouts as much as possible. This dress takes the beating of stuffing it in a suitcase or backpack, maintains wrinkle-free, and looks fresh even after wearing consecutive days. With a light shawl or sweater it dresses up nice for dinner even after wearing it all day running around."

I Love This Dress!
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"Great dress! Bought it for a summer vacation. Fit great, worked for everything from going out to dinner to walking around town in a pair of flip flops. Lots of compliments. Great price for the look, the quality and the versatility.

(Note: the key to loving this dress so much for me was finding the right bra - and I felt like I really needed to wear a bra with it. VS had a comfortable one with adjustable straps, and cut low enough in the back that it didn't show...once I got that figured out, the dress became an instant winner!)

perfect dress
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"After reading the reviews of the Morning Glory dress, I had to order it. I got it today (in XS, black, of course) and will live in it for the rest of the summer. This is a perfect dress.

I am a waif (5'1", 105 pounds max, 24" waist, 28/29" inseam, 32AA/A, 31/32" hips) and have a lot of trouble walking into dresses off the rack -- they never fit, and when they do they usually aren't flattering. This dress takes all of my flaws, my lack of hips, my lack of height, my lack of shapely bosoms, and makes them into assets. I look sleek and fast in this dress. I look EXACTLY like the catalog models in this dress, other than being shorter (see below).

There is an empire seam below the bust and the dress flows from there over the waist and hips, not voluminously like a true empire waist, but with enough fabric so that it isn't embarrassingly close-fitting. You won't have to spend all your time sucking your stomach in while wearing this dress. The halter neckline makes the most of what bust I have and the top is double-layered so I don't have to wear a bra. The fabric and build quality mean low or no maintenance. It's like this dress was made just for me. (Patagonia is really good at this; I felt the same way about the Bandha dress the first time I put it on.)

The dress is MUCH longer on me than on the taller models in the photos. I guess if you are close to six feet tall, it will be knee length, but since I am just over five feet tall, it falls just above my ankles, which I believe is called "tea length". This is a very flattering length, and more versatile than a shorter dress would be. So if you are afraid you are too short to wear this dress, don't be. I had anticipated having to hem the dress, but I won't need to. On the other hand, if you are short and looking for a minidress, this is not the dress for you.

I heartily recommend this dress to all waifs.

"I recently wore this dress to a birthday party where we played wiffle ball. I was able to look cute for the first half and steal bases for the second - what can beat that?"

Sexy if you want it to be
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"Another fabulous dress! The cut of the bodice really does beautifully for the torso! I'm a 36B or 38C (depending on the bra, and it fits great! Love that it is open in the back. Wasn't sure about the tie in the back, but when I tried it on, it was just fine! Fabric is great - no wrinkles and smooth."

Great Dress for hot states
4 out of 5 4 of 5 stars
"I bought this dress based on the reviews, the fact that I am living in TX and it's really hot, and that I am from CA coast and I love clothes with great versatility. I'm 5'2" and stalky built, bought the small, fits great, but xsmall will probably fit better!"
