"comfy, warm. soft and more wind resistant than R2 material. I have worn it over a T shirt around the house on chilly mornings, to work and walking around the neighborhood on colder mornings.
Cons:zipper doesn't quite go all the way up. Like many other Patagonia products, the mesh pockets can catch things like keys."

"My wife and I have each owned 3-4 of the Synchilla Vests over the last 20 years. It is perfect for an extra layer over a long sleave shirt here in Colorado when it can be very hot in the sun and freezing in the shade. I wear mine almost every day from Fall to Spring. Thanks for a great product!"

"When I buy slim fit, S always fits me well. I tried S in this style. Way too baggy. Tried XS. Tight around the arms.
The fabric is nice and thick. Good quality."

"I bought this vest for my husband in a medium (5'9, 160lbs) and it fits perfectly. The material is very soft, holds up well in the wash. It is so comfortable, I think he may even be sleeping in it soon enough."

"I now have several Synchilla vests in different colors. I use them for backcountry, sports, casual wear, and travel. I find them the perfect blend of warmth, weight, bulk, and functionality. Also, the moths, don't like Synchilla and the vests can be washed; my wool sweaters are, one by one, going to Good Will."

"I do not like the 2 front pockets, position and storage. I would like a third pocket, chest, the neck when zippered is too bulky and warm. The weight of the vest is also too much, i think is a classic that need a new design."

"The vest is great for the cool days in the South. It's perfect for the chilly days out on the disc golf course. A sweatshirt is too restricting on the arms, so the vest keeps my core warm while giving me free range of motion in the arms. A good deal, very happy with the purchase."

"This vest is pretty warm and very comfortable. I usually wear it under my coat while snowboarding and keeps me very warm. It is cut a little slimmer than most medium regular fits at patagonia so that is one thing I would look out for. Overall though it does the job."

"This is the classic fleece vest for casual wear. If you are looking for something for serious technical wear, than you'll probably want the R2 vest or something comparable. But if you just want to stay warm and not break the bank, the Synchilla Vest is the one.
