"I live in Montana, I work at a local ski hill. I abuse my stuff. I wear this to work everyday. Initial quality, fit and finish is outstanding. 10-15 degrees and snow. I wear a Cap 2 long-sleeve, the Slopestyle and a Storm Jacket. Rugged and comfortable. Simply fantastic. 1. Fit is perfect. not "baggy" as some reviews mentioned. Just a great relaxed fit. I am 5'10" 42 chest, 33 arm. Medium is perfect for me. Think of your favorite broken-in sweatshirt that fits great; add a hood, wind resistance, skin loving fleece and you have the Slopestyle. 2. Thumbholes: Yes they are snug on the thumbs but after a few days, they break in. yes people, break in. That should indicate how well this piece is constructed. 3. Pockets. Roomy enough for gloves and zippered stash for keys etc. What they don't mention on the website is that the drawcord hem tightens from each pocket, fantastic when you have gloves on and want to batten down the hatches before a powder run. 4. Hood: Fits over my helmet fine and seals out the pow from down my shirt. 5. Wind resistance is great. Face is very soft and the fleece is uber supple. If I could afford it, I would buy two more so that I can have backups when I finally wear this out and send back for recylcling. 5. Lifestyle: I have dogs that shed like mad. simply brush your hands over the face and it's gone in an instant. It's nice to head to the local brewery without an added layer of fur. Well done Patagonia. Fantastic piece!"

"Unlike the much too tight Slider Hoody, this is a perfectly sized large hoody (I am 5' 10" 200 lbs. athletic build) with an awesome outer face material. This is my favorite Patagonia product in the past two decades. I love it -- bought one and then later a second in another color!"

"This is one of my favorite clothing articles ever, wear it all the time. I am forever on a quest to find the best hoody on the planet and this one is a top contender. Does fit larger than normal, I usually go Large but the Medium fit me great ( 6'tall and skinny). The hood fits great and has scuba style coverage for keeping out the chilly winds. Simle but effective, the hood cinch's and the waist cinch work well and keep things snug and warm. Detailing and quality are great. I am going to buy a second one in different color."

"This was one item in which it would have been nice to try on before the purchase. My first reaction was the color (purchased the green one) of the fleece lining has a more neon-ish yellow tone than my computer showed. Also it is a little more baggy than I realized, for the most part Patagonia mediums fit me to a T, I knew going in it wouldn't be too tight, but it really is baggy-baggy.
On the plus side it has a wonderful feel and is very stylish, I think if you couple it with a vest you have a good outfit for a night at the tavern.
But in the future I would recommend that Patagonia would make this hoody in a similar style, only with a tighter fit."

"I wear my hoody all the time, and get lots of compliments on it. My only complaints are that it's not nearly as warm as I had hoped and the thumb holes are, most of the time, annoying. The fleece lining is barely there and the thumb holes let cold breezes sneak up the sleeves. I wouldn't consider this hoody any warmer than your regular old surf shop cotton hoody. I also don't think this hoody would double as a ski outerwear piece as descirbed. It has very little wind resistance for that type of application. That said, it works quite well as an everyday layer. The smooth finish slides well under a shell or puffy layer. I really like the fit as well. I've found most of my recent Patagonia purchases that were described as "regular" fit were way too snug. The fit of this is just right. Enough room to add a layer under, but not to big to layer over."

"Versatile weight, but a pretty funky cut compared to other Patagonia products (Yes, I realize its considered 'relaxed' fit, but still...) Unless you want to wear it baggy or plan to be squeezing 3 or 4 other layers under it, order a size smaller than your usual."

"I bought this hoody thinking that I would primarily wear it on my daily bike commute – either alone or under a shell, depending on the conditions. Instead I have worn it in town, in the backcountry, on that commute and now really look forward to skiing in it. It’s both a handsome garment and a good technical piece. Well thought though details like the zippered pockets inside the hand warmers put it head and shoulders above ones usual expectations for the typical hoody."

"I'm likely too heavily armed, enjoy two stroke exhaust too much, and too far off the generally accepted 'mission statement' of corporate Patagonia to ever be considered for the coveted 'Ambassador' status, however I have owned dozens of Patagonia Jackets and this one is top three for sure. Essentially bombproof is a good start. This thing is simple, durable, warm, and fantastic in the soaking wet and freezing 'snail' and 'snort' of southeast Alaska in winter. In true rapper fashion; it has a large and loose fit with a hood that would satisfy a cone head or even a mountain goat. (swallows a snow machine helmet or a Ruroc helmet in full, no problem) This baby will fit over any puff jacket those big name outdoor manufacturer's can throw down. Over or under, inside or out I wish I had one of these for each day of the week."

"You like baggy, dis is it! and the hood's big enough to fit over your Kangol and New Era, worn sideways! Can you say "Hilfinger"?
Seriously: great piece, but the sizing and hood could use improvement. Order a size smaller.The hood's huge- Great if you wear a helmet on the slopes or out on the town to dazzle the ladies."

"I originally bought the hoody for x-country skiing; however, I'll probably use it for alpine skiing, too. It's warm, yet, seems to breath and it seems to be well made. It's light weight is an added plus. The only three criticisms I can offer is: 1--the inner material seems to cling to one's clothing while putting the garment on or taking it off; 2--pit zips would allow additional ventilation; 3--I would like to see the Made in USA label attached to this garment. I haven't used the hoody very much, consequently, I do not know how well it will wear; however, if it lasts as long as the other Patagonia products I have purchased, I'll be very pleased."

"Seriously, I've worn this thing around so much in the month I've had it, that it could probably walk around by itself by now. Super comfy, The fleece liner keeps you warm, Stands up to the wind alright, wrist gators are a nice addition, I usually wear large in everything else, but I got a Med in this and it fits perfectly."

"I bought the slopestyle hoodie for my husband last year for his birthday. He loved it so much that he asked me for another one in a different color for Christmas. He wears one almost everyday! I also have the women's slopestyle hoodie and I love it too! It is very soft inside and very warm! It washes well and I would recommend it to anyone!"

"This is one of the most comfortable and versatile jackets I own. I use it as a sweatshirt and it is warm and comfortable. I have also used it for layering under my Rubicon Rider jacket when the temperature plummeted. It is very durable and the hidden zippered pockets are a terrific touch."

"I have been looking for a hooded jacket that offers moderate weight with a hood. This looked like it would fit the bill and it does. The shell blocks most of the wind and the fleece keeps you moderately warm. This has become my throw on jacket for going outside or running errands.
The only complaint is that the hood is a bit generous, and without a cap on doesn't cinch down all that smoothly in windy conditions.
All in all a very good jacket at a great price."

"Great for outerwear addition. Maximum mobility & comfort. I wear it freeriding and in the park. It keeps me warm and dry. Even on a cold day I felt warm, (of course you wear an under layer) Did I mention it looks cool...................."

"I'll be honest, this isn't as warm as I thought it would be. I was hoping for something I could use on Central Coast mornings before/after a surf session, but I end up wearing a thermal under it to stay warm.
With regard to the hood as mentioned in a previous review - I haven't tried it while snowboarding, but in non-action scenarios I like it quite a bit. It's not too big, not too small and does provide an extra degree or two of warmth."
