Excellet Warm Jacket
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I'm about 5'11" - 145lbs and typically wear a Patagonia size small. That is the size I purchased, however the PB is still >slightly< larger than I'd like through the body. As others have said, the sleeves are on the long side, however I see this as a plus...wouldn't change the length if I could. Consider pairing this with a glove designed to fit under the cuff.

The jacket is warm...can't imagine you'd ever need much more than a long sleeve Cap3 under it. My first time out in aprox. +20F weather [probably about 10+15F with the wind factored in] I had a long sleeve Cap3 and R1 pullover under it...ended up getting rid of the R1 rather quickly.

Typical Patagonia. Excellent build quality, pockets/zippers exactly where you'd want them, stylish, comfortable. Big thumbs up for the interconnection with the PB pants.

Great Jacket
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"The first day I wore this jacket, it was 27 degrees outside, with a windchill that made it feel like 17 degrees. Light snow was falling, and I was walking through Manhattan, which during the winter, is extraordinarily windy due to the buildings. Everyone around me was bundled up and shivering, while I was comfortable with just two longsleeve cotton shirts underneath.
That being said, I know this is a ski jacket, and I don't really do much skiing, but this jacket was the perfect solution for me as an every day winter jacket and my jacket for cold weather bike commuting. If I am wearing a fleece or a thermal, I am toasty, but with just the cotton shirts, I am comfortable.
The chamois lined collar is incredibly comfy, and seals out wind, and the sleeves run a bit long, so the cuffs cinch around your gloves.
I use the pit zips occasionally when riding, which helps on the way to work, so you can breath and not be sweaty when you arrive.
Im 5'8" 150lbs with short(ish) arms, and the Small fits perfectly. The medium was a bit long for me.
I'm writing this review more for those who may not be using this for skiing or snowboarding, because I have not been in those situations with this jacket. But if you are looking for something that is waterproof/windproof, warm, and stylish to wear in the winter, this jacket achieves in a big way.

Finally Found the One
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I have been trying different shells for the last two seasons. Some Patagonia, some not. I got the PB Jacket week before last and just got back from Alta and Snowbird skiing. The first day it was below 0 and I was able to put multiple layers underneath with no problems. The last day, I had just a base layer on. It provides warmth/waterproof protection as well as the ability to ventilate (pit zips, etc). I wanted a jacket that I could wear in extreme cold and spring skiing. This one will do both. I agree with someone else who wrote that it "would have been nice to have more colors"."

M's Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket
4 out of 5 4 of 5 stars
"I love this jacket except for a couple of minor things. 1) The sleves are way too long, 4". 2) The colar is too tight to wear a helmet and still get the zipper closed. It fits perfect without a helmet though.3) The little foam stops to hold the hood opening size don't work very well at all. They slide too easily."

Best ski/ride jacket ever!
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"The insulated powder bowl jacket is great! Much better than my Helly Hansen instructor uniform. The color (Red) is unique, and not like any other red I've seen on the mountain this year. The number of pockets, and sizes, are just right. I especially like the neck/collar. It's large enough for a neck gatter, and tall enough to protect my face. You guys hit it out of the park on this one! Thanks again for the Pro deal - every bit helps."

Solid all around Jacket
4 out of 5 4 of 5 stars
"This is the highest quality jacket I have ever owned. One thing I look for is overall quality. This is from the with the well done seams to super nice zippers and vents. The only comment I have is about the sizing. In most Patagonia jackets I take a large but in this one I take a Meduim. So I'll have to switch for a Meduim. Other than that a perfect all weather winter coat."

Warm Parka
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"Great fit, nicely insulated, just a great all around parka. One down feature is the lack of a two-way zipper; tends to pile up at the waist if you're not real tall when sitting chair lifts. But, I'd buy it again."

My first day in the coat
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"My first day in the coat was in a raging blizzard temps around 20 degrees and 20 to 40 mph winds. I was ok though a bit cool so I added the down sweater. OH YEA.. that made the experience wonderful, warm and dry all day in waste deep powder skiing really hard in the trees and on powder bumps. Great coat would recommend it to anyone."

New Favorite Jacket
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"This jacket lives up to its description and is really well designed combo of a shell with added warmth. Sizing was right on with size chart, I'm 5'10" 180 lbs and a medium was perfect. Insulation is substantial while not feeling restrictive. Kept me toasty this past weekend riding in temps in the low teens with high winds with just two light layers underneath. Pockets and vents are all placed well. The shell material breaths and repells water as well as any other gore tex jacket I've had. Only complaint is that the neck could be cut a bit larger. Looks great and overall is the best boarding jacket I've ever purchased."

Great choice
4 out of 5 4 of 5 stars
"Quality Jackt; great attention to detail; warm. Could use a second breast pocket, similar to the Primo. Like other Patagonia jackets, the sleeves are too long. Finally, the wrist cuff could benefit from elastic, in order to eliminate constant cinching and uncinching of the cuffs when putting on or taking off. Neck liner is very smooth and comfortable."

"Overall this is a great jacket, the features are amazing and as advertised. I tried both the medium and the large. I am 5'10'' 170, and the medium fits perfectly. The large was a little too bulky. In both the medium and the large the sleeves run long."

Fit Issue

"I enjoy all my patagonia clothes and the fabric this coat is made out of is incredible. You can pour water on it and it is still completely dry. I am 6' 185lbs and normally wear a Large. Unfortanetly this coat is very tight in the armpits, even with a thin base layer movement is restrcted so much I had to return the jacket."

fit issue
3 out of 5 3 of 5 stars
"I wanted to love this coat. I have closets full of Patagonia products. I was looking for a down hill ski coat, I am 5'8" and 165 lbs I always wear a Med. I have recently found that Patagonia coats are being cut to small in the shoulders and arm holes. When I put on a layer or 2 this jacket was skin tight and restricting my movements. If I get a large the body is huge as well as the sleeves way to long. I returned the coat and wil wait until next season. If you are a very trim build this coat will work. I loved the features."

Excellent Jacket!
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"First, let me say I was in search of a single jacket, not a system of base jacket and shell.
The want: to be able to wear a jacket in 40-50 degree weather with half-zipped, and to wear it in 10-30 degree whether fully-zipped: Staying cool or warm regardless!
This jacket achieves in a big way. The neck comes up to cover your mouth if you like.. That's a big plus in windy conditions and this jacket is windproof. The sleeves are running slightly long, which I like... again more windproof protection.
It's waterproof, windproof, and the hood is insulated and still zips on/off. Generous pockets with a padded MP3/phone holder and still has zippers under the arms to let it vent better if needed.
Wears well regardless of what's underneath as it's soft and won't catch and has a "regular" fit: not slimmed to you and not draping on you. So wear this with a sweater if you want ultimate warmth or with a capilene long-sleeve if you want a lighter feel.
