"I use this as my base-layer for skiing - not matter what the circumstances - and it truly is the best base-layer I've ever owned.
It wicks moisture on those warmer days and provides excellent warmth on those early morning winter hours. Also it has maintained its shape over the past few years of use!"

"I am very pleased with the cut of the garment, it is very comfortable and light to wear. More importantly, it is an amazingly cool yet substantial base fabric. I have used it all by itself, and also as part of an elaborate layering system in an attempt to stay warm, and it is perfect."

"I bought this zip neck thinking I would use it primarily as a long underwear top underneath other layers in the cold. The first trip with it was June at City of Rocks. The storms blew off after the first day and at the temperature went up layers came off. Finally hot and sunny my Cap 2 stayed on and I appreciated the long sleeves and the bright orange color for hiding from the sun. It was my go to shirt for the hot days on the rest of the trip."

"I use this Zip neck as my main layer during early morning summer rowing at 5:30am. The fabric feels very light yet keeps the the chill of a morning breeze at bay. Once out on Long Island Sound and the hot sun rises I am able to keep cool by opening the long zip neck. The fit is not too tight nor loose so does not to interfere with sculling, oars or slide.
The best Zip neck from Patagonia yet, I buy one every year and have 4 now."

"I found the overall look and feel of the 2 Zip, fantastic. I wear it as an underlayer, (I'm a weekend ski instructor), under a fleece shirt and jacket. Wear it at home with a Patagonia Tee to keep warm in a drafty house. I like the warmth it provides, without making me perspire. Awesome purchase, I'll probably buy more (already own 2)!"

"I have now used this shirt as a base layer or only layer while running, biking, and birding through a typically fickle New York spring. In spite of the varied conditions and activities, I never felt either hot or cold. The fit is excellent and the versatility seems almost like magic. Comfortable enough for lounging around the house, too."

"A very good and well-made baselayer. Good wicking qualities, breathable, light, and fits well. Patagonia's attention to detail is apparent even here, e.g. in the inset zipper stop. My only complaint with capilene is body odor (hence the 4 stars and not 5), which is quick to appear, unlike in wool garments."

"Love these tops. Works as intended as a moisture wicking mid-weight base-layer for aerobic activities. However, I found myself throwing it on over t-shirts as a light long-sleeve top on those cool spring days when a t-shirt is not enough and a jacket is too much. So much so, that I bought two more in different colors so that I didn't have to dig through the laundry as often. Great wardrobe staple!"

"Great product. I did a running tour of DC on Easter this year wearing the capilene 2 zip neck. The light weight layer breathed well and wicked not only the sweat, but also the morning drizzle away while keeping me cool during the run. I purchased the blue color. It is nice and full. The stitching is Patagonia quality with a multi stitch pattern for increased durability. I would highly recommend this product as an underlayer or a light over."

"I'm a full time skier and mountain guide and I wear the Cap-2 every day! The zip alllows for instant shedding of heat and the whole garment breaths like mad. I've got 2 in rotation and a Cap-3 for cooler days."

"This short, along with the short sleeve version, are great base layers for anything: riding, snowmobiling, boarding, or around town. The mesh underarm vents well and keeps you dry and there are no friction spots from seams. Great buy."

"Everything about this product is just about perfect except the sizing. I wear a 40 long suit coat ans have a sleeve length of 35 1/2 to 36. For me to get the proper sleeve length, I have to wear an XL when I think the L would fit better. I haven't tried o the L size recently since I had that problem in the past. I assume the sizing hasn't changed much, therefore I only order the XL"
