"I have had this version of your chest pack for over 15 years. It is my Go To bag for carrying my fly fishing gear. Sometimes it seems to big and other times to small. Guess that puts it in the middle and just the right size 95% of the time. Only wish the neckstrap was padded as it will cut into your neck after a day of fishing. Only complaint is that it is not waterproof. Never know when your going to step into a deep hole and get everything wet. After 15 years of use, the only thing not holding up is the rubber coating on the inside of the bag. It is starting to peel and flake. Hmmm.... wonder if I could send it back for a replacement:) I highly recommend this chest pack for anyone considering buy it."

"In today's world of all hat and no cattle this pack is the antithesis. There isn't an abundance of mesh and zipper pulls to hook and snag. You can strip and double haul all day and have nary a hang up. After thirty years of honing my needs to just the necessary this pack is perfect. Store all you need with grace. The only thing I would change is a pad on the strap that goes around your neck. It is a little thin and tends to cut in. Don't expect to get a wader jacket in it."

"Have long used mine for fishing. But recently adapted for on-trail photo bag attached to front of backpack. Holds Nikon D80 w18-55 plus 55-200 zoom easily plus filters etc. in the little pockets inside. Also use about town with same gear in hip bag mode. Simply added a piece of close-cell foam to bottom. Clipped waist strap around front, removed neck/chest strap, then connected its D-rings to pack's shoulder straps w Op/Tech system. As functional but less expensive than fully padded dedicated camera bags."

"Overall the bag has performed well as a hip pack. My biggest complaint, and in retrospect I wonder why Patagonia hasn't done this with this pack, is that this pack isn't waterproof and barely water-resistant - after a day of fishing I often have to leave all the contents out to dry. This could be problematic if I camp for several days as I may not be able to dry my flies out. I fish for spring steelhead most often and with swollen rivers from snow melt, I spend a lot of time in waist deep water. I think a pack that is completely waterproof, or waterproof lower half would be more ideal for the wet-wader like myself."

"The pack looks good, as of yet I have not used it. Pretty basic, sure it will fit my needs and carry everything I need. A product to look up to is the Fishpond line of packs, I don't know if you wanted to hear that, they are expensive but built well."

"Getting the job done! This pack does it…. It doesn’t matter if I’m fishing the North Umpqua for Steelhead or chasing trout in Montana…. This is the pack I always grab. I can always fit a full day’s worth of stuff in this pack!!"
