"I bought this as a "second bag" that can be stashed in my MLC as i am a frequent traveler. Super-packable, I can pull it out and it's small enough to be a man-purse or "personal item" for the airlines, but it's handy enough that I use it all the time, not just for air travel - even great for bicycle trips to the supermarket."

"Don't laugh, but I use this travel pack as a diaper bag. I looked at so many diaper bags before making this purchase. I couldn't find anything out there that was this spacious, lightweight and durable. Boy, can I pack it in! Side mesh pockets for bottles and pacifiers, outer large pocket holds a changing pad and spare diapers, and the inside holds everything but a crib. I needed free hands for the twins so I always wear it. Nice thing is, after the diaper stage I'll be able to use it for recreational activities. Don't second guess yourself, JUST GET IT!"

"This bag is terrific to stash in your pannier or purse for times when you have extra stuff to carry. It's a great travel bag and can easily be checked since it zips and buckles up securely. I like that it can be converted from a back pack to a tote."

"I used the light weight travel tote for a trip to Japan. It performed just fine as a carry on and as a pack for day trips. I would, however, recommend adding padding to the shoulder straps. They dug into my shoulders when carrying it through airports and hiking around."

"I just got mine in the mail today, so I haven't used it for much yet but my initial impressions are very positive. As everyone has said, it's very light yet seems sturdy. The material used for the body of the bag is thin, but the bottom is reinforced with tougher cordura-type material for durability. The backpack straps stow away very nicely. The only thing I didn't expect is that it's not as easily stuffed into its pocket as I expected. You have to remove the foam pad first, stuff the bag, and then store the pad separately. So I probably won't bother. When empty, it is very flat, so that makes it plenty packable already. If I could add one thing, it would be a tiny snap to keep the foam-pad/strap stowaway compartment closed at the top--a very minor quibble. Overall, I love it! Especially the modern blue color from last season."

"I travel a lot and this back is perfect! I went to Tonga and NZ last summer and this bag fits way more stuff in it than you would expect. I had a jacket, a pillow, books, Ipods, camera etc. in it for the flight over. Because it's so roomy, it's nice when you are out sightseeing for the day and won't be back until nighttime. It can fit incidentals you might need, plus any souvenirs you might buy. It's durable and looks good. When I'm not traveling, it's a great gym bag, or a gear bag for sports. Excellent! it's a bit pricey, but I got mine at a sale at the outlet here. I love it!"

"So glad to find a bag that fits all my pool gear for swimming laps. I like the fact that it is compact yet roomy to hold 2 towels, suit, googles, my Zoomer fins and also my cosmetic bag. The side pockets I put my flip flops in. The guy at the Ventura store said it is the best bag to get and he was right!!"

"So far I have used this bag as a grocery shopping bag, gym bag, stuff sack (on trips to seperate dirty clothes from others) and to haul a few bottles of wine to friends houses for gatherings. This lightweight gem has performed superbly in all cases. I can't forsee any travel plans that this bag won't be rolled up and placed in pack or luggage for. No a single ounce od dissapointment in purchasing this bag. Worth the money."

"this bag is awesome. i saw it at the patagonia store in soho last year and just felt that i needed it, despite not having a concrete use in mind. my boyfriend, who was at the store with me, tried to convince me not to buy it. "it's so ugly!" he said. but i just really felt that it looked cool, so i got it. one year on, he has basically absconded with it. he uses it every day to bring his books to school. but when he isn't monopolizing it, i use it as a carry on or to tote veg home from my local food co-op. of course, now i want to buy him his own one for christmas but i'm not so wild about the new color selection. i have a nice cool grey one from last year. alas... perhaps the dark blue one will have to do."

"My friends made fun of me when I busted this bag out in Vegas for a convention because it looked like a black plastic garbage bag. After we experienced the cost of a round of drinks in Vegas we headed on a long walk to a liquor store to get our own supply. This bag carried everything solidly and comfortably and then stuffed back into my pack taking up no room. My friends stopped joking and bought their own. Great grocery bag and goes in my pack for every trip."

"This bag is obviously not a hiking backpack so don't buy this thinking you will take it out on the trail. What it is excellent at is everyday use. Our family has 3 of these and of course mine gets called the manpurse. I would have to aggree with all the praise in the reviews that has been given so I wont repeat what everyone else has already written. All I will say is that Patagonia really got it right when they designed this one."

"I own the lightweight courier as well as this tote. I prefer the tote because you can carry as a backpack, or use the handles as a tote. Perfect size as a second carry-on or a day pack for travel. you won't be disappointed"

"I bought this bag to use while traveling as an extra place to stash stuff in the car, a carry-on if necessary, a lunch bag, a camera bag, a catch-all while on day trips. It has done all of that on numerous trips, and I don't leave home without it! Lightweight, strong, very packable (I go for weeks at a time with only carry-on). It's good as a backpack or a tote. I like that it can be closed securely so stuff doesn't fall out. I highly recommend this bag."

"I bought this for a train trip in Europe and was so glad to have it on numerous occasions...biking, the beach, touring, and toting groceries. It is so lightweight yet durable with thoughtful design. The backpack handles can be tucked away when used as a tote. Zippers keep everything secure. Internal key fob. Outer zipper pocket. I would definietly buy as a gift...especially if on sale."

"I originally bought it because of it's great "packability"- super lightweight, rolls up tiny. However, I find myself using it for everything from a day at the beach, to the local farmer market, to the dog park. It now lives in my car so I always have a bag at hand. It's tough, has a few nifty pockets to keep things organized (inside and out) AND it can be used as a tote or backpack.
