Great feel, but stretched out
3 out of 5 3 of 5 stars
"I was very excited for this hoody...cashmere, gray, and full zip and 30% off helped too! But this stretched out very quickly, became too baggy and I didn't like the fit. I love Patagonia, so I can't beat them up on this one. My only thoughts are maybe a tighter knit (but then it may be too hot, and more expensive). But some of you may like it!"

Favorite sweater
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I bought this hoody at the annual Patagonia sale, just before I moved to Scotland, and it quickly became my favorite and most worn item of clothing. British weather being what it is, I wore the hoody all year long and found it great for travel--especially my 21-day freighter sailing on the North Atlantic! After several years, my hoody still looks nearly as good as new and it's as comfortable as ever. Easily the best clothing purchase I've ever made. Thanks, Patagonia."

It's finally a 5star...er...er...er!
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"Ok, so I'd always had dreams of something so decadent as a cashmere hoody, so when Patagonia came out with theirs two years ago I jumped on it...sadly, the fit was weird. It sat on my shelf throughout the season, rarely making it out for a mere fitting before being refolded and returned to it's lonely little spot. As I'd said, the fit was very strange, but worst of all the sleeves were short...REALLY short...short enough that I never wore it...specifically for that reason. The next season came around and I sent it back to be swapped out for a new one, hoping that year they had resolved the problem...sadly, they had not- and so this new member of my clothing family took up residence in it's predecessor's old home. A couple of weeks ago I saw that Patagonia had released their new generation and, hesitantly hopeful, I placed the short sleeved lonely man in a bag and drove up to the Westport (CT) store to have a fitting. When I pulled on the newest of the cashmere hoodies I was met with bliss...from the top of my head, all of the way down to my WRISTS!!! Glory Glory Hallelujah, I can now wear it with pride and confidence! Bravo for dealing with that Patagonia...and Bravo John in the Westport store for bearing with me and not making me feel like a lowly little mooch for going through three of these things before getting comfy...buy with confidence, it's a beauty!"

Best Sweater I Own
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"This hoody is hands down the best sweater I own. I have had it for almost two years, and it barely pills at all. It is soft, stylish and well-built. (Do note that it's not as soft as some other cashmere sweaters, such as the Patagonia Cashmere Cardigan. But the trade-off is that you get practically no pilling or fuzzing with this sweater.) The hood is just the right size to snugly fit over my head and keep me warm, and it fits perfectly under the hoods of my jackets. My only wish is that the arms were a touch longer. I am 6', and the arms are just a tad too short."

Love it, almost

"The hedonist in me loves it. It is soft and very comfy. The cut it generous. The material is nice. It is very warm. With a shell on top it is a match for winter in north China. Lose the shell, open the zipper, and it is not insufferable inside overheated Chinese buildings.

Now as much as I love this thing, it has started to pill quite a bit. The cuffs could be a little bit sturdier. They are a little sloppy. Overall it doesn't feel up to the quality standards of my 15 year old Patagonia sweaters.

Still it looks good enough for the office without being too stodgy for wearing out and about.

Every day in Santa Cruz
5 out of 5 5 of 5 stars
"I had my eyes on this from the second it came out, because I love cashmere, and I love Hoodys.

Finally got one at the local outlet last spring, (I'm a sale shopper)
so, I bought a grey one, and brought it home, and my wife quickly made it clear that I might be able to wear it when she wasn't.
So, I went back and got a green one.

I really wear it almost every day I can find it, and my wife wears hers almost as much.

I take it with me when I go to town on sunny days in case its foggy and cold down there.

Comfy, warm, durable, I wear it everywhere-gathering firewood, kicking it on the couch, and going out to almost every occasion where I don't need a tie or cycling clothes or a ski jacket.

between that and a waterproof rain jacket, I'm thinking the rest of the casual jackets in the closet can go to goodwill.

this thing is functional, comfortable, and made of a fabulous material.

Patagonia, I'm hoping you come out with Royal Blue or Black, and I'll buy another one.
the colors you have aren't my favorites.

"Wearing it now as I write this on a cold San Francisco night. Super comfy and soft. Looks great. Its expensive but Patagonia cashmere is quality. I now have 5 cashmere sweaters from Patagonia because they don't pill and last a long time."

Some Cozy Business
4 out of 5 4 of 5 stars
"Okay,
I kind of agree somewhat with whatshisname right there about how cashmere and zippers ought to be mutually exclusive, except I really don't want to. I love zip-up hoodies. I love cashmere. Put one with the other, poof, magical coziness, remarkable warmth and total petability in a sweater that looks cool. Yes, cool. The pinnacle of Patagucci.
The only problem is that whatshisname is kind of right. My zipper is starting to come unstitched on one side towards the bottom (I will at some point send it in to be fixed if I can part with it for a week). Also, a jumping doggie claw snagged the pocket and made a hole (ditto for the repair or replacement - $300 and a hole within a month? Please.). Also, the sleeves need to be longer, though my sweater's deficiency there may be an anomaly. Also, the hood should be bigger and deeper. And the elbow patch reinforcement, while they are a neat detail, don't really seem to be authentic.
That is quite a few strikes. And while I should probably hate on this thing and denounce its very expensive price, well, I can't. Because for some reason, even though it's the single most expensive piece of clothing I own, I would also say it's my favorite.
Yes, period.

Zippers + Cashmere = Pointless
3 out of 5 3 of 5 stars
"Putting zippers on Cashmere has never made sense to me...perhaps if this was an Organic Cotton/Cashmere blend, then I would not care so much...but having a steel zipper on pure/expensive/beautiful Cashmere makes the $200+ Cashmere aspect of the garment completely dependant on a $5.00 piece of equipment that easily snags the fabric, breaks over time, gets stuck constantly, looks meaningless, and weighs down the overall garment. Buttons or nothing on Cashmere should be standard."
