"Pants are like steel, but the front pockets are too shallow - things fall out. Also the pants are cut a bit low in the back and the plumbers' salute is always a possibility. But otherwise - nice!"

"I love these pants, and they sometimes drive me nuts. The fit is great. Material is durable and comfortable.
However, I have nearly lost my cellphone in any number of Beijing taxis. I have had my cash fall onto the street. The front pockets could be a little deeper or the opening less prone to purging whatever you stash."

"I engage in a lot of outdoor activities where pants just don't seem to last very long unless they are very durable, so naturally I was very excited when I saw Patagonia had a pair of pants with double layered knees (especially helpful for guiding rock climbing groups) but these pants have been the absolute worst. I have now had two pairs' pockets break at the seam, and haven't even been able to take them out because they have broken after having been worn twice. The problem is the pants are designed so the material stress from any movement of the legs is transferred to the pocket seam, which easily breaks with minimal wear."

"I bought these pants for a recent European adventure. I had brought other pants with me but never wore them because these were so great. These pants took me from country walks to nice dinners and everything in between. They are sturdy, look nice and wear well. I recommend them to anyone looking for a great pair of pants."

"These pants beg for you to throw some work their way just to show off. The cut is a little narrow through the hips compared to some of the other styles I own so I would recommend bumping up a waist size."

"I love the shop pants. The reinforced knees and mud flaps make an already-sturdy pair of pants that much better. I use them for all sorts of stuff: camping, trailwork/restoration, everyday errands, working on and around my boat. They hold up to all sorts of abuse.
My only complaints are that I prefer the older, thicker fabric over the current thinner/softer fabric (it was more sturdy like a good pair of Carhartts) and it seems like there's minor variation in size/shrinking characteristics between the different colors. Otherwise they're great."

"Everyone needs a pair of indestructable pants that you can do yard work in, chop fire wood, and just basically abuse. These are those pants. Heavy canvas, and double thick on the knee area... Anyways, very good pants for manual labor. Be advised though, cat claws do actually poke through the canvas and into your leg if a cat were to scale your leg like a tree."
