"I live in SE AK...rainforest...and purchased this garment w/ the intent of wearing it as an insulating layer underneath my Marmot Alpinist shell. The Nano's shell is made of extremely slippery polyester which makes for a cozy/comfortable fit. It does however seem to provide a bit too much insulation during any high aerobic activity and lacking in the breathing department as I have yet to use it w/o having to dry it out afterwards. Creates somewhat of a vapor barrier which traps moisture/heat....guessing it's the polyester shell... I know it's not designed as a wicking base layer but it's always damp at best.....HOWEVER this hasn't proven to be a real issue as I am constantly AMAZED at how FAST this little bugger dries out. I recently washed 4 insulating garments....the Nano, an R1 top, a KUHL wool top and a Sporthill....w/i 30 minutes of hanging by my fireplace the Nano was completely dry....the rest were still either damp or just plain wet...it seems to function like my tent....offers some protection from the elements and dries out extremely fast. The description says it could be used as a shell in a wet snowstorm...I would NEVER do that that...honestly it functions somewhat like a sponge when moisture is involved....seems to get wet easily w/o any sort of water-resistance...I would say it's ideal use is in DRY climates...(I know....rainforest....doh!!! :):)) wearing it as a casual garment around home/office Rocks!! I'm planning on going w/ the R1 pullover as my goto garment of choice for layering when going out in search for the freshies....however when the temps drop into the teens or below the Nano will be accompanying me....overall a great garment to add to your arsenal of gear...."

"Incredibly warm for it's weight. Seems as toasty as my standard puffy."

"received this as a gift in baja. So stoked that to have this piece of gear. A wind/warmth layer is critical to so many days along the coast and i was never disappointed in the performance of the pullover. Has become the mainstay go-to pullover for all conditions. Looking forward to a hoody in the future."

"I bought the Nano Puff for my go to fall/spring piece, while trout fishing during the missouri deer hunting season. The Mango (Blaze Orange) color makes me visible too all the hunters that could be lurking in the area. This item packs small and weighs next to nothing, so I bring it with me pretty much everywhere. This pull over is warm by itself and even warmer when yanked over an R2. By the way this is the SECOND Nano I have owned. The first was sold to a friend to use while climbing and he loves it. GREAT JOB!!! If you make a full zipp with a hood in Blaze orange, I would buy it in a heart beat... Thanks and keep up the great work."

"The Nano Puff is a great foundation piece and very flexible in its uses. You can work it in as a midlayer, wear it as a shell over fleece to block wind, or just by itself. The smooth fabric slides easily over or under other layers. It packs small, and is very light, so you can toss it in your pack -"just in case".
Sizing runs true to Patagonia norms. At 6'2", 185 lbs, the Large fits great."

"Pro: Pullover is great for my outdoor sport of trapshooting during windy & chilly days on the range. Being lightweight does not interfere with shoulder positioning of shotgun. Con: outside stitching makes the pullover unattrative to wear off the range. Would have been much better making smooth outer layer."

"Pullover is OK but don't expect it to replace your favorite fleece in warmth or comfort. The sizing on this product is totally screwy and mine ran almost a full size small and short. Mailorder people be wary as you will probably need to try it on first."

The best piece from Patagonia

"The Nano is in my opinion the best piece Patagonia make these days. I bought one in the beginning of winter in New England to wear around town and when climbing. I was surprised of how warm it is. It became my jacket for the winter. And on the super cold days? Well, add an R1 and you are ready for everything."

"I have an original-model puffball still going. But I like the nano better. It's lighter and in mango very cool looking. It seems to be about as warm but more versatile. Light enough to wear indoors while the grill gets hot and, once zipped, warm enough for outdoor winter grilling. Like the puff, takes up zero space and weighs nothing. Good to go in nearly any weather and any setting. Fantastic lightweight insulation under a shell when it gets a little too nippy."

"warm, light, versatile. I wear it skate skiing so it does get a bit smelly after a few times out if I'm only wearing a light layer under it. warm, good fit."

"Luv this coat. I wear it around the house all the time. It slides on and off effortlessly. The lack of friction on the material makes it ideal for this. Perfect for layering. Wish all my layers were like it. I've used it for ice climbing, cold weather running, alpine and x-country skiing. I just took it camping-never took it off."

"I have two other Nano Puff Pullovers--one refuses to die even after 12 years and 3 returns for repairs--and I love them. My new pullover is a quantum leap beyond the earlier models. It is very light, attractive, and the comfort range is very, very impressive. Thank you for a great product."

"This is the perfect shell. I wear it every day. Works great over a base layer and/or under a jacket, like the classic work jacket. Nice and slippery for easy on/easy off. The fit is great; close but not tight, or bulky. Incredably warm for so light, while packing up into its own little pocket makes it a must in my pack. I'm 5'6" with a 38" chest and the small was made for me. My favorite layer."

"I bought 2 puffs at the start of the winter for home/town use (non wilderness). I've worn them constantly and love them. However, a small tear has developed near the left outside elbow area of each which has surprised me as I don't recall if they snagged on something...hmm. The material is superthin but that adds to its softness and lightness which are nice."

"I use this for everything from biking to hiking, light alpine, climbing, and apres surf. I've even used it for cold weather running and aerobic stuff. The usable temp range for this is almost unbelievable, from 40's to below zero and extremely water resistant. The best thing is the trim design; stays out of the way and is still warm as heck and it packs down to nothing. It is almost always in my bag or back jersey pocket for cycling. I almost contemplated buying another, but after constant daily use it shows little or no wear even in a light color. Also good to see usable colors back in the Patagonia line for alpine/climbing use-black is great for the city, but give me orange or the new green for real use."

"I recently purchased a Mango Nano (a bold color choice for me) and I fell in love with it immediately. It was so warm and light it was amazing. Especially for the ever so cold winters around Deep Creek Lake, Maryland and for activities such as skiing, as a base layer, or just taking the dog for a quick walk with nothing else needed as a jacket. I was so impressed I've ordered one for my wife. Great product for the money."

"Bought the kiwi colored one for later Winter and Spring wear. As a midlayer it holds its own against heavier alternatives.
As an outerlayer, I have only one gripe. It comes with tag stating Deluge DWR, as I confirmed there is only one tag for waterproofing. It's only DWR (not Deluge), so I trust it as outerlayer in better weather with chance of rain, but not if I know it will rain.
As for it's warmth, you really feel it when it's on. It's Primaloft One goes to work as an insulator, and just imaging a DAS with 170-g of it!"

"I've been wearing the Nano Puff Pullover since it came out. I've used this layer in a variety of conditions and environments, from canyon country to long multi pitch routes to winter ski trips. Depending on the temps and conditions I'll layer over the Nano or wear it as my outer layer. I've put a great deal of use (abuse) on the Nano and aside from some outer fabric wear it is still going strong. (Given the design of the Nano I expected some fabric wear.) The Nano's warmth is wonderful and i do love its overall lack of weight. I give this layer 4.5 stars. I'd go 5 stars if the layer had a hood."

"The Nano Puff Pullover is a good first edition. It is very warm for how thin and light it is. The only reason why I did not give the Nano a five star rating because of the boxy fit it has, and the sleeve length. I am 6'5" and 185 lbs and the Nano size L is wide and short, but I understand that it is short because it is nice layering piece. I thought the sleeves were not as long as my other Patagonia jackets. Nano Puff is a warm pullover and I think Patagonia will fix these issues with future models."
