"My husband asked for the men's version of this coat for Christmas. He loved it immediately and so did I. I decided to buy one for myself in a post holiday sale. Unfortunately there was no such sale; after waiting more than a month I bit bullet and bought it anyway. I've not regretted the purchase. It is my favorite coat I've ever owned: super light weight, easy to pack, easy to stuff into a back pack, never wrinkles and is wonderfully warm when it's cold but not too hot when it's a moderate temperature (how does that work?). I would highly, highly recommend this for anyone interested in ultimate comfort, functionality and style."

"I never leave home to ski or backpack without it. I even wear it home. You can wear it alone on warm days, layer it under a jacket on cold days. It is not meant to be and is not windproof or waterproof. I love it , love it , love it"

"Great fit, lightweight but warm, fab color, attractive, too. A good value on sale.
(The weather turned warmer after my purchase and I made do with another down jacket, so returned the above.)"

"This is the lightest, most comfortable jacket I have ever worn. It feels like a great big airy hug! I especially like the roomier fit in the hips added to this year's design, allowing space for layers and a belt. It also doubles wonderfully as a soft pillow or back support on long car trips, or in an uncomfortable waiting room chair. The only negative I've found are the front pocket zippers, which catch the lining almost every time I use them. This is especially frustrating when trying to extract a ringing cell phone, or keys that are needed in ten degree weather. Nevertheless, I wouldn't want to live without it!"

"This jacket is EXTREMELY light but so so warm. The fit is perfect for a sweatshirt underneath. I am about 5'2'' and 120 lbs and this fits me well. If I was looking for a slimmer look, I would go for an xs, but I am very satisfied with my s. After a very cold winter, I am so happy I had this!"

"This is by far one of my favorite Patagonia purchases in my 15 years of wearing Patagonia. It is well described as ultralight and compressible. It is warm enough for our Montana winters, but was perfect over a tee in Charleston, SC for weather in the 50's. I am 5'6 150 lbs. and purchased the large."

"I love my down sweater. It is lightweight, warm and stylish. It fits beautifully and I am a very small person so sometimes I have a hard time finding something that is small enough. I also consider it quite versatile since it can be worn zipped or unzipped, depending upon the weather."

"i have been looking for a down jacket that is warm and does not make me too much like a michelin man since i am 5'1 and 150# and also top heavy. this jacket fits the criteria the best of all the different down jackets that i have tried on. the jacket is light and does pack into itself into a little ball, which i find is good for traveling. usually, i have problems finding patagonia jackets that fits my shape since most of the sleeves are too long. if u are petite like me, this jacket is a good one to try. length-wise in sleeves and torso are very petite-friendly :) yes, the feathers does start to come out almost immediately. in my case, the second day and continues to come out but i love this jacket. i got a second one already for myself and bought my mom the longer version. the sizes for this jacket runs a bit big since i am not normally a medium but that is what i fitted into (nice feeling for the psyche ;) i also recently took this jacket with me as a layering jacket (to be used under snow shell jacket) for a recent trip to beijing and harbin, china (a little south of the siberian plains) in january that had minus 30 degree weather. and i got away with just wearing a pair of wool thermals, t-shirt, fleece jacket under this down jacket in the daytime in harbin (except for the times that the wind blew since this jacket is not wind-resistant) and i am from sunny california (silicon valley to be exact) so i am not used to cold, freezing weather. this down jacket is thin enough that you can wear multiple layers under it without looking like a stuff sausage and layer over it without feeling uncomfortable. this jacket is very versatile. i have worn it in 40 degree weather to minus 30 degree weather and still felt warm and comfortable. another good thing that i have found with this jacket is that u can wash it in the washing machine in cold water in delicate cycle and dry it in the low heat cycle for 30 minutes but u do lose the "newness" shine of the jacket and it does smell a little like a wet duck but then it is made with down ;)"

"I debated over this purchase for a while b/c I really have an array of Patagonia jackets and insulating layers. What sold me on this is that it is so soft and lightweight that it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. Forget the old school down of the past -- it fit under my Winter Sun with no problem whatsoever...it compressed down to nothing. MUCH better than my R4. AND it is wind/water proof & toasty warm. Doesn't hurt that it looks great on - designers were so smart to put the down layers on the bias...so flattering and doesn't look bulky AT ALL. I purchased it in the green and it looks fantastic on/off the slopes!!!! Don't hesistate like I did - buy it and start enjoying now!"

"I got a down sweater last spring as a birthday gift, and it is now one of my most favorite things! It was versatile enough to work for my humanitarian trip last spring, where I traveled through Frankfurt, Germany, Singapore, Bali, and Nepal - packed down nice and compact for 90 degree F Singapore and Bali, and warm enough for the 40-50 degree mountains and over-air conditioned airports! It was also the perfect midlayer for skinning and skiing up in Teton Pass!
I'd recommend this item to everyone!"

"I bought this sweater for an upcoming trip to South America, but we've had an unusual bit of unseasonably cool weather in South Florida and the down sweater has been perfect. It is toasty warm in the 40's, but you don't get overheated if the day warms up into the 60's. I took a 5 mile power walk and by the time I got home it was in the low 60's and I never had to take the jacket off. It is so, so light and soft and the arms have plenty of length if you need to tuck in your hands."

"I was recommended this jacket by a friend and when I tried it on, it took a bit of getting used to. I'm not used to having a jacket fit so snuggly and form fitting. I prefer a more relaxed fit, but once I got used to it, I really liked it. The jacket is super light weight and it doesn't feel bulky at all. I like how the arms are form fitted, so you don't feel like the Michelin Man. I usually sweat in jackets and it feels like this jacket knows when I'm getting too warm and it adjusts. I know that sounds a bit odd, but it is true. I normally sweat in jackets and I have yet to sweat in this one. My environment is usually between 0 and 50 degrees F. And this jacket does really well. It feels like you are wearing a light -weight duvet wrapped around you. Awesome jacket!"

"I bought my down sweater 4 years ago for a trip to Africa because down is so packable. I feel in love on day one. It takes up no room in a bag so I take it everywhere. It is the only jacket I wear here in PA all winter. I am toasty warm with it as the outer layer over underarmour. I love not dealing with a bulky coat in the car. If I had the money, I would have more than one.
My only complaint is that after several washings, the bungee cord at the bottom lost its stretch."

"I really like everything about this but the fit. While I understand it is for rock climbing and small busted women, this is still overly short on me--like most Patagonia jackets, unfortunately. I have started wearing it under my shell or hoodie for spring skiing/walking around campus on rare inclement days and it regulates really well. I really wish there were a longer, slimmer version similar to my slopestyle hoodie, but I got it at the outlet by my house, so at least I wasn't paying $200."

Affair with a down sweater

"I bought one of these down sweaters last year, and fell in love with the dang thing. I use it as a layer underneath an outer shell, or even wear it on a very cold day inside my woodstove heated house. The jacket is very cozy and lightweight, and incredibly packable. For my birthday this year I decided to buy myself a second one. I was lured in by those who wrote rave reviews about this groovy little jacket, and I too could become one of those people who confess to owning MANY."

Good Quality

"This is one of my favorite jackets. I also bought the vest which has the same fit as the jacket but does get a little more fitted around the waist. I wear them year round. I could not give it 5 stars for two reasons. One is that the drawcord to tighten up the lower part of the jacket is on one side only. It should have one on each side to get a more fitted look. The other is really only because of the way it fits ME. I have large shoulders & D size breasts. Kind of like an 8 bottom & 12 top. The medium in the jacket fits me perfect around the midsection but is constricting around the top so I went to a large. Although the jacket is not the most flattering for me b/c it is big around the waist I still love the way it feels. I have always understood that Patagonia makes their clothing gear toward a rock climbers body. Small up top, narrow waist & larger hips. So knowing that I usually only buy certain jackets, shorts or fleece pants. The watergirl series tends to fit me better. You'll have this jacket forever and it is worth the money. Do not buy a knockoff like a Land's end, it will not fare the same quality."
